Fish Curry

This recipe was taught by one of my ex-colleagues, I like her recipe not only because it's so good, it is also simple to make. I usually love to have my fish curry with prata. Oooohh yummy!!

Fish Curry

Ingredients:
5 mackerel steaks
2 red chillis – sliced
10 pieces of curry leaves
2 onions – sliced
3 cloves of garlic – sliced
½ teaspoon of mustard seeds
5 tablespoons of fish curry powder
½ a glass of tamarind juice.
3 tablespoon of oil.
4 lady’sfingers – cut into 3.
4 glasses of water

Method:
  • Add tamarind juice to the fish curry powder and mix it to make a paste and put it aside.
  • Heat up the oil in a pot and saute the red chillis, onions, garlic, mustard seeds & curry leaves.
  • When the onions have turned brown, add the fish curry paste.
  • Stir the curry paste until the oil surfaces and add salt to taste.
  • Add in 4 glasses of water.
  • Once the curry has started boiling, add in the mackerel steaks and lady’sfingers.
  • When the fish is almost cooked, add in the tomatoes.
  • Finally, you may cover the lid till the tomatoes are cooked.

Serving Suggestion:
